Blind Faith

Ancient words written long ago.

Thou shalt not do this, thou wilst do that,

Or forever burn in flaming abyss.

Writ not so long past, though still a while,

Words of love, goodwill towards other men;

Ne’er mind in return only gained is ill.

Long dead scribes spawn many creeds

Saying with us alone God resides.

We know the truth so must go back;

Thou wilst, thou shalt not, returns to the flock,

In order to keep mutton aboil in the pot.

Bringing forth visions received from high;

Great rewards for him who taketh God’s missions.

Thou shalt not relent, thou wilst keep faith

And kill that devil who liveth in those who say,

"Your god is our god," but bring forth only rabble.

Timeless words spoken - but never written?
