Life sentence
Loved you from the beginning,
Even when oh so bad.
Loved you when down and blue,
Much more when happy and glad.
And still, my love, I love you,
Although away from me you flew.
My love for you knows no bounds
Though many miles may part.
My love for you demands no fee
Though worries at my heart.
And forever, my love, I’m sentenced,
Because you are of me.
This love for you is shaped by blood,
So formed in aeons gone by.
This love for you stems from genes,
So cannot answer why.
And thus, my love, I gladly serve
with all my earthly means.
Your love for those from deep in you,
will never fail this test.
Your love for those, without a why,
will always do its best.
And so my love will carry on,
passed to you from I.
